Russell Hoffman, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, Owner Certified California Common Interest Development Manager

A former Board President of his Homeowners Association, Russell formed Valencia Management Group in 1994 along with Leonard McKinley CPA, to provide Community Association Management Services to the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas. Russell is a graduate of California State University Northridge, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. Following graduation, he worked as a buyer for major corporations including May Company California, Vons Grocery Company, and Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies. Russell is active with the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Community Associations Institute, having served on the Board of Directors and acted as Co-Chair of the Satellite Programs Committee.

Russell has earned all three of the management certifications from Community Association Institute (CAI), including the top designation of Professional Community Association Manager, and is a certified California Community Interest Development Manager.

Leonard McKinley, CPA, Owner Certified Public Accountant

Leonard has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration; Option Accounting Theory and Practice, graduating from California State University Northridge in 1982. He was granted a Certified Public Accountant License in October 1984 and is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Following graduation, he worked at several West Los Angeles accounting firms before starting Valencia Management Group along with Russell in December 1994. His family has lived in the Santa Clarita Valley since 1973, and his wife's family homesteaded the Santa Clarita Valley in 1890.

Ruth Moffitt, CMCA, AMS, PCAM

Ruth came to VMG in 2001 with an extensive background in customer service and office management. Prior to joining VMG, Ruth worked as Grievance Liaison (customer service) and Network Department Manager for General Electric’s Dental and Vision division. After working in the VMG Accounting Department for several years and as an Assistant Manager for a year and a half, Ruth earned her CMCA designation and began her career as a portfolio manager in 2004, adding to her credentials the AMS and PCAM certifications. Ruth is now responsible for Administrative Services Management and Quality Assurance initiatives at VMG.

James earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University in 2003. He has been in the Community Association Management industry for the past 14 years, joining VMG in 2013. James holds the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), Association Management Specialist (AMS), and Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designations.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from California Lutheran University. He spent time working for the City of Santa Clarita prior to coming on board with Valencia Management Group in 2013. Scott currently holds the CMCA and the AMS certifications.

Steven Hoffman
Director of Information Services

Steven is responsible for the design and maintenance of our proprietary Community Association Management software which is at the forefront of the efficiency VMG brings to the industry. He holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Computer Information Services from California State University, Northridge.

Peggy O'Donoghue, CMCA, AMS, PCAM

Peggy is a native of Los Angeles and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies from California State University, Northridge.

She has worked in the community association management field for 12 years. After raising four children, Peggy joined the Valencia Management Group team in 2009 as a portfolio manager and began earning her credentials through CAI’s Professional Management Development Program (PMDP). Through the PMDP program, Peggy earned her Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) certification, an Association Management Specialist (AMS) designation, and the highest designation, the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM).

Lisa has worked in the community association field since 2007, joining VMG in 2015 when they acquired the previous firm she worked for. She holds the CMCA and AMS designations and has extensive experience in portfolio management.

Karen Manahan, CMCA, AMS

Karen graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree. Karen has worked in the Association Management field since 2001. She worked part-time while raising her family and has been a full-time Association Manager for the last 11 years. Karen currently holds the CMCA and AMS designations.

Michelle Underwood, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Senior Community Association Manager

Michelle is a Multi-certified Community Association Manager with a reputation for outstanding customer service. Her experience ranges from condominium and single family homes to large scale, commercial and luxury high-rise HOAs. Michelle has served in leadership roles with local and state professional associations and currently holds an elected position with Los Angeles Neighborhood Council. In addition to having attained the CMCA, AMS, and PCAM designations, Michelle is also a Licensed Real Estate Agent and earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree.

Kayla Reynolds, CMCA
Community Association Manager

After many years spent as a Project Manager, Kayla joined VMG in 2018. She worked as a Homeowner Services Representative until earning her CMCA in 2020 and promoting to the position of Community Association Manager.

Nicole Peterson, CMCA, AMS

Nicole joined VMG in 2015 with an extensive background in customer service and administrative management. Previously, she worked as the Director of Human Resources and Communications for a data management company located in Downtown Los Angeles. After working with VMG as an Assistant Manager for a year, Nicole earned her CMCA and AMS designations and began her career as a portfolio manager. She is a graduate of California State University, Bakersfield and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature with a minor in Communications.

Roberta joined VMG in September 2015, bringing with her more than 30 years of property management experience. She received the CMCA designation in October 2016 and the AMS designation in June 2018.

Beth entered the Community Association Management field in 2006, prior to which she served in the Title and Auto industry. Beth earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications from California State University Northridge.

Cinnamon Valdiviezo, CMCA, AMS

Cinnamon Valdiviezo began her career in the Community Association Management field as an Assistant Manager in 2013, was promoted to Community Association Manager in 2019, and currently holds the CMCA and AMS designations. Prior to joining the Community Association Management field, she managed a satellite office in the health insurance field for 15 years and worked for an insurance defense attorney.

Before working in Community Association Management , Sue worked for 26 years in the property tax management field as a Vice President of Operations. Following the sale of her division, she began as an Assistant Manager prior to being promoted and she now holds the CMCA designation. Sue has an Associate of Arts degree in business.

Kristen Hicks, CMCA
Community Association Manager

Kristen came to VMG with over 10 years of experience as a Community Association Manager. She also served as Manager of the Agua Dulce Airport, a beautiful 110 acre privately owned property, where she facilitated property maintenance and assisted with many construction projects. Her strong suits are vendor relationships, having a great understanding of the mechanical aspects associated with property maintenance, and building relationships with her Board Members and Homeowners. Kristen also takes pride in her involvement over the years in local philanthropic endeavors and participating in educational opportunities through the Community Association Institute (CAI).

Dana Moreno, CMCA

Dana began working in the Community Association Management field in 2013 and joined VMG in 2017. She was promoted to Community Association Manager in 2019 and holds the CMCA designation. Prior to entering the field, Dana managed a small boutique. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her children, grandchildren, and close friends. She also loves traveling and being outdoors.
